Rock Island Cycle Trail

The Rock Island Cycle Trail is a proposed 9.9-mile north/south bicycle and pedestrian trail running adjacent to the Rock Island Metra Line between Roosevelt and 89th Streets. The defining feature will be an elevated greenway running parallel to the active Metra line, making use of currently underutilized surface.

The Rock Island Cycle Trail is currently being developed as a joint planning project between IIT Institute of Design and the Beverly Improvement Association (BIA), with grant support from the US Federal Government and the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT).
